Therapist Becca Ferguson: “
When we have anxiety, depression, and trauma, it’s difficult to believe that we can be in control of anything. As your therapist, I value you feeling heard and understood in therapy, and respect all of your feelings. My approach to therapy is dependent on each individual. I don’t have a cookie-cutter treatment that I apply to everyone. It is my goal to give you a space where you can better understand yourself and the skills that you already have.
I’ve worked in multiple settings and careers that have given me the opportunity to understand different backgrounds. I graduated high school in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and moved to Clarksville, Arkansas where I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Radio/Television/Video and Strategic Communication in Broadcasting. After a year hiatus from school, I pursued my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Henderson State University. I have worked in private practice, an inpatient hospital, a crisis center, a half-way house, and community mental health. Throughout my career, I have developed the abilities to work with all clients. It is my belief that everyone deserves to be listened to.
In therapy, I utilize modalities with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I have experience working with individuals who struggle with eating disorders and will often incorporate psychoeducational tools to develop healthy habits and goals. We come to therapy for a reason, and it is my intention to help you achieve the goals that you set out to accomplish when you made the decision to find help.
In my spare time I love to watch sappy tv dramas, organize different things in the house, do crafty things, and spend time watching Chiefs football and Razorback sports with my husband and our three cats. I recently moved to Northwest Arkansas in 2018, and have loved being a part of this community!
